I graduated from the Smith College, School for Social Work in 1997 with a master's in clinical social work (MSW) and graduated from the University of Maryland with a master's degree in business administration in 1998.  I completed two internships as requirements for my MSW degree and became a licensed clinical social worker in the state of California in 2001.

My first internship was at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland where I worked with clients who were suffering from rare chronic diseases of the immune system and clients participating in clinical trials who had HIV/AIDS. My second internship was at the University of California, San Francisco in the department of outpatient psychiatry. I worked as an outpatient psychotherapist and saw a diverse population of clients.

Upon graduation from Smith, I also completed my master's of science degree in business administration from the University of Maryland. I worked for UCSF and began a two year post graduate private practice internship in San Francisco.

After the completion of my internship I began my career as a social worker with Kaiser Permanente as an inpatient case manager in Redwood City, California. I worked with the chronically mentally ill and their families in locked psychiatric hospital units.

I relocated to southern California with Kaiser Permanente and became an outpatient psychotherapist at Kaiser Sunset in Los Angeles, California.  I did a second post-graduate private practice internship in West Hollywood as well. After I became an LCSW in 2001, I started my own private practices that I maintain currently in Venice, Silver Lake and West Hollywood.

I work with adults, adolescents, couples and families. I have led workshops and groups on depression, anxiety, assertion, dating and relating, couple's communication skills, career, sexuality, self-esteem, and co-dependency.
